Built on machine planed blanks, manufactured by R Chapman and Co, these are a more affordable way of owning a high quality split cane fly rod. These blanks are manufactured to a very high standard, using the faster machine planing method, and while not as fine as a hand planed rod, they are certainly very enjoyable to use.

The finishing is still done by myself using the same grade of components and attention to detail that I apply to my hand planed signature rods. I rarely have the time to produce rods for stock and what I have available is very much down to the blanks I have been able to obtain.

This example is finished with light olive silk, honey agate stripping guide and holly and nickel silver reel seat. This section of holly was cut and seasoned by me, taken from the tree in my old garden.
