Silk lines are in every way superior to PVC fly lines. The lack of stretch, the finer diameter, the way they float, there is simply no better way of connecting with fish or fly. While they do require more care than synthetic lines, they have a very long life and I have just replaced my AFTM 5 after 12 years of use.
